S/he who rules the kitchen, rules the house. Join us for our four part Chef Skills Series, and become the master of your kitchen. In our Chef Skills classes, we’ll make you an expert with knives, teach you the basic stocks and mother sauces, the French art of Sous Vide, and everything you need to know about selecting/cooking meats.

Classes are $45 each, or $160 for the whole series!

Sharpen your knife-wielding skills (in the kitchen) with an expert education from those who use them most—our chefs! Perfect your cutlery capacity by learning the intricacies of chopping, mincing, slicing, dicing, julienning, and chiffonade. Our professional instruction will give you life-long proficiency in selecting, caring, and the proper use of cutlery, along with the art of maintaining a sharp knife.
Stock up on your culinary fundamentals with this class designed to teach the building blocks of delectable cuisine, including basic stocks and the five “mother sauces”—a necessary foundation for any seasoned chef’s tool chest. Then we’ll prepare recipes by adding onto the basics and creating complete meals.
Don your beret and learn the French culinary art of “Sous Vide”—vacuum-sealing food and cooking it by soaking it in temperature-regulated water or steam. In this interesting workshop, our chefs will instruct you on how to properly bag and cook chicken, duck breast, beef short ribs, and pears. Then, we’ll prepare recipes using the items we sous vide. Délicieux!
Beef up your meat preparation techniques with this medium-rare class dedicated to helping the up-and-coming chef get the most savory flavor from their cut of meat. You’ll learn the details of specific cuts and cooking methods for each type, then, you’ll prepare recipes by utilizing each individual approach. The carnivore in your family will say, “Well done.”

Every hands-on class includes one complimentary glass of wine or beer, and the opportunity to purchase other drinks from our full bar throughout the class. Kearney Culinary Academy’s full bar will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the class, so come early and enjoy a beverage before we begin.

Registration for each class will close 24 hours prior to the event date.
