Chef Scott Martinez grew up in California and is a classically trained Certified Culinarian (CC) who completed his European-style apprenticeship in 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia. Some of his achievements include a bronze medal for the Battle for Atlanta in 1997 and was twice honored with Apprentice of the Year through the American Culinary Federation.
Following his apprenticeship, Scott began a Personal Chef Service, serving clients on both coasts of the USA, and consulted for large catering companies in the San Francisco bay area while also keeping high-profile clients during the Dot Com boom in the early 2000’s. Soon after, Scott started a catering company in Chico CA, utilizing local and farm fresh produce and animal products, as well as growing his own. Through his retail storefront, Scott prepared ready to serve and heat meals as part of his Gourmet To Go Operation.
Scott is proficient with many world and regional American cuisines, and takes special interest in using local, sustainable food product and utilizing absolutely everything to minimize waste, not only for the pocketbook, but for the planet.
In the Kansas City area, Scott has worked at the Nelson Atkins Museum, Cerner World Headquarters, and is currently at The National Golf Club of Kansas City. Scott is also a lifelong musician that owns a recording studio, and is in a touring rock band called Alice Sweet Alice.
