Bio

Clare Nichols was born into a family with a love of cooking and baking. She watched her mother, a caterer by trade, cook fresh meals for her five children each day. Although Clare’s favorite meal was pizza, she grew to appreciate those hand-made dinners.

Clare adores the culinary arts, however, she soon realized her passion was baking. She honed her skills at The French Culinary Institute in New York City. Although she enjoyed NYC, Kansas City is her home. When Clare came back to KC, she began working in bakeries such as Bloom Baking Co, Baked in Kansas City and Webster House Restaurant.

While running the Pastry Program at Webster House, she met Ashley Foy-Price; they shared the passion to bake to perfection. Butterscotch Baking Company was born; Clare and Ashley went on to cater many weddings and special events.

Both have since directed their passion in a different direction—teaching! Clare continues to create incredible pastries and teach the students at Kearney Culinary Academy in Kearney, MO.
